Replacing inner tie rods (Opel Insignia A)

1. Remove the front wheel from the vehicle.

2. Remove the steering gear boot.

3. Place the special key SN-6247 on the plane of the inner steering rod housing.

4. Turn the inner steering rod housing counterclockwise until the rod is disconnected from the steering rack.

5. Remove the inner tie rod (1).

5. Remove the inner tie rod (1).


6. Remove any remaining old locking compound from the steering rack threads and inner steering rod.

7. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Apply a fixing compound to the threads of the inner steering rod.

8. After installation, adjust the toe-in of the front wheels of the vehicle.

Note.
  • Gasket 2.5 mm (shown in the picture) is used on cars with 18-inch wheels, and the 5.6mm spacer is used on cars with 19- and 20-inch wheels.
  • Tightening torque of the inner tie rod: 60 Nm.
