Checking the equipment for fastening the rear brake pads


1. Remove the brake caliper from the mounting bracket.

2. Remove the brake pads from the caliper bracket.

3. Check the brake shoe mounting hardware for the following:
  • Lack of brake pad fastening elements.
  • Excessive corrosion.
  • Deformation of mounting keys.
  • Looseness in the caliper bracket.
  • Weakness in the brake pads.

4. If any of the listed defects are detected, the brake pad fastening elements must be replaced.

5. Make sure that the brake pads are securely fixed to the caliper bracket, but at the same time move easily without jamming.

6. Install the brake pads onto the caliper bracket.

7. Install the brake caliper onto the mounting bracket.
