Exhaust manifold — replacement (Opel Zafira A)

The necessity of performing this operation should be determined during the inspection of the technical condition of the exhaust system (see "Exhaust system - technical condition check"). When installing a new exhaust manifold, be careful. Sharp impacts can cause damage to the catalytic converter, which is done together with the manifold.

Sequence of execution



1. Place the vehicle on an inspection ditch or overpass (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Disconnect the inlet pipe from the exhaust manifold (see "Intake pipe - replacement").

3. On the Astra model, use a 10 mm wrench to unscrew the nut securing the negative engine wire...

...and disconnect the wire.

4. Disconnect the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head (see "Exhaust manifold - gasket replacement").



5. Remove the manifold upwards from the engine compartment.

6. Install the parts in reverse order.
