Air filter element
The air filter is located in the front right corner of the engine compartment.
Replacement
1. Release the retaining clips and lift up the air filter cover just enough to remove the filter element.
2. Take out the filter element.
3. Wipe out the casing and cover. Install the new filter element, remember that the rubber gasket on the filter element must point upwards, and secure the cover with the clips.
Fuel filter
Warning! Before working on the fuel filter, wipe the area around the filter and the filter itself; make sure that dirt and foreign particles do not get into the power system. Have a suitable container ready to drain the fuel from the fuel filter and place a rag around the filter to collect the leaked fuel. Keep diesel fuel away from parts such as the alternator and starter, coolant hoses, engine mounts, and wires.
Replacement
1. Drain the fuel from the fuel filter following the instructions in subsection 2.2.3.2.
2. Lay rags around the fuel filter, then unscrew the filter and remove it from the housing. If the filter is tight, it can be unscrewed with an oil filter removal tool.
3. Wipe up spilled fuel and remove O-rings from old oil filter/filter housing (depending on what is needed).
4. Check that the surface of the fuel filter housing is clean, then install new o-rings on top of the new filter element.
5. Lubricate the new O-rings with a small amount of fuel and screw the new filter into the casing, first screwing it in by hand only.
6. Bleed the fuel system, then start the engine and check the filter for leaks.
Checking and adjusting valve clearances
Check and, if necessary, adjust the valve clearances, following the instructions given in subsection 3.5.19.2.
