Cylinder heads (Opel Insignia A)

Note: The procedures are shown using the left cylinder head as an example. The operations for the right cylinder head are similar.

Removal

1. Remove the turbocharger.

2. Remove the front engine cover.

3. Remove the secondary timing chain.

4. Remove the cylinder head with the exhaust manifold.



5. Remove and discard the cylinder head gasket.



6. Clean and check the condition of the sealing surfaces of the cylinder block and cylinder head.

7. If necessary, do the following.

• Remove the exhaust manifold from the cylinder head.
• Disassemble the cylinder head.

Installation

1. If necessary, do the following:

• Assemble the cylinder head.
• Install the exhaust manifold onto the cylinder head.

2. Install a new cylinder head gasket.





3. Carefully install the cylinder head onto the cylinder block.



4. Install the secondary timing chain.

5. Install the front engine cover.

6. Install the turbocharger.
