Note. The procedures are given using the right cylinder head secondary circuit as an example. Operations for the left cylinder head chain are similar.
Removing
1. Remove the engine front cover.
2. Remove the secondary timing chain tensioner.
3. Remove the shoe of the tensioner of the secondary timing chain.
4. Remove the damper of the secondary chain of the gas distribution mechanism drive.
5. Remove secondary circuit (1) timing gear drive.
Installation
1. Make sure that the alignment marks (1) on the crankshaft sprocket and cylinder block match.
2. Install secondary circuit (1) timing gear drive.
3. Place the secondary timing chain around the intermediate sprocket, aligning the marked link (1) secondary drive chain with mounting hole (2) in an intermediate star.
4. Place the secondary drive chain on the camshaft shifters.
5. Verify that there are ten links between the marked links for the phase shifters (1).
6. Align triangular mark (1) on the exhaust phase shifter with a marked link (2) secondary timing chain.
7. Align triangular mark (1) on the inlet phase shifter with a marked link (2) secondary timing chain.
8. Between the marked links of the phase shifters and the intermediate sprocket on each side there should be 22 links.
