Replacing the turbocharger. Engine LBY/A20DTR (Opel Insignia A)

Removal

1. Raise and secure the vehicle.

2. Remove the catalytic converter.

3. Remove the turbocharger return oil line.

4. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

5. Remove the lower mount (1) of the turbocharger module.



6. Remove the oil line mount (2).

7. Remove the vacuum hoses from the turbocharger module.

8. Remove the turbocharger pressure oil lines.

9. Remove the lower air filter outlet duct.

10. Remove the intercooler inlet pipe from the turbocharger.

11. Loosen the mounting bolts (3) and remove the oil dipstick pipe (4).



12. Unscrew 9 nuts (5) from the turbocharger.



13. Remove the turbocharger.



14. If necessary, transfer parts from the old turbocharger to the new one.

Installation

1. Install the turbocharger and tighten in the specified sequence to a torque of 20 Nm.



2. Install the oil dipstick pipe (4) and tighten the mounting bolts (3) to a torque of 8 Nm.



3. Install the intercooler inlet pipe onto the turbocharger.

4. Install the lower air filter outlet duct.

5. Install the turbocharger pressure oil line.

6. Install the vacuum hoses to the turbocharger module.

7. Install the oil line mount (2).



8. Install the lower mount (1) of the turbocharger module.



9. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.

10. Install the turbocharger return oil line.

11. Install the catalytic converter.

12. Lower the vehicle.
