Plastic protective caps of headlights can be scratched by sand and small stones during the movement of the car, as well as when wiping with a dry cloth. The light transmittance of scratched caps is greatly reduced, so small scratches must be polished with special polishes.

1. Before polishing, cover the area around the headlight with masking tape to avoid damaging the paintwork.



2. Apply polish to a special cloth.



3. Apply the polish evenly and without pressing hard, using circular motions, to the headlight cap.

4. Using a special polishing cloth, polish the surface in circular motions until the polish is completely used up and the surface becomes shiny.

Plastic lenses of rear lights and side turn signals should also not be wiped with a dry cloth. For cleaning, use special commercially available cleaning and polishing agents or plain water.

Periodically (at least once a week) it is necessary to check the serviceability of the lamps in all lighting devices. Defective lamps should be replaced.

Periodically (at least once a year, can be performed during the next maintenance) lubricate the contacts of the exterior lighting fixtures with conductive grease. This is especially important for headlights, as they contain powerful low/high beam lamps and poor contact in the socket can lead to excessive heating of the connection.
