Bonnet Lock Drive Cable — Replacement (Opel Zafira A)

The drive cable is replaced as a complete assembly with the drive handle and its bracket.

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Using an 8 mm wrench, unscrew the cable casing mounting bolt.



3. Remove the hood cable from the holder above the front left headlight.



4. Disconnect the drive cable tip from the lock spring (the tip disconnection is shown on the removed lock spring).



5. Remove the drive cable from the hole in the frame of the front panel shield.





6. Remove the lower trim of the instrument panel (see "Hood Lock Drive Handle - Replacement").

7. Using two thin slotted screwdrivers...



...we move the front part of the handle bracket away from the body.



8. Disconnect the bracket from the body by moving it back.



9. Pull the hood lock drive cable into the passenger compartment.



10. Check the condition of the cable sealing bushing. If there is any damage, it must be replaced.

11. Install the parts in reverse order.
