2.0L engines
The ignition system is integrated into the engine management system and consists of an ignition distribution module and a fuel knock sensor.
2.5L and 3.0L engines
On these models, the ignition system uses two knock sensors for the left and right bank of cylinders.
Examination
1. Malfunctions in the ignition system are most often caused by unreliable wire connections or short circuits, and not by failure of system elements.
2. If a malfunction is detected, first of all check the connecting wires and spark plugs, the condition of the air filter and hoses. If the source of the fault cannot be found, contact a specialist.
