General information about the air conditioning system (Opel Zafira A)

The climate control system is designed to regulate the temperature in the car interior and for its ventilation. The ventilation and heating system of the car interior is a supply and exhaust system, and the temperature of the heated liquid of the engine cooling system is used to heat the interior.

The climate control system of Opel Astra and Zafira cars, depending on the configuration, is either a heating system only or a heating and air conditioning system. Climate control systems with an air conditioning system are equipped with a filter for the air entering the passenger compartment (see "Astra Air Conditioning Filter - Replacement" or "Air conditioning filter model Zafira - replacement").

To remove the air conditioning system (for example, to replace radiators in heating and air conditioning systems) it is necessary to remove the instrument panel, and if there is an air conditioning system, also to depressurize it. Therefore, it is better to entrust this work to a specialized service that has the necessary special equipment. The book describes only those works that do not require special skills and equipment.

The air conditioning system uses R 134a refrigerant.
